BIBLE TRUTH AND CONTEMPORARY REALITIES

GOD HAS MADE A NEW COVENANT WITH ISRAEL

In the name of Jehovah God, Master of the universe, Ruler of the earth.

Brethren our hearts desire and the will of God is for Israel to be saved. Thus, we pray for Peace throughout the world. We also pray for Jerusalem and for the Church. We come Boldly standing on the Word of God and Truth. We come not with what man has said but of what is of God. We again note that there are many mis-conceptions and distortions regarding the Salvation of the Hebrew people. However, the Bible is very clear and concise on this subject.

Now for another Bible Truth we turn to the Prophet Jeremiah writing in the 31st Chapter. Here we will bring three verses up for review as they all relate to our general subject.

Jeremiah 31: 31. "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah."

Here we see the beginning of a very important prediction. The passages of scripture noted here is also recorded almost verbatim in Hebrews 8:8-12. Israel and Judah are both named because together they composed the 12 tribes. Meanwhile, the fulfillment of the prediction of Christ is for Jews and Gentiles. (We also refer you to Jeremiah 32:40, and Ezekiel 37:26).

Jeremiah 31:32. "Not according to the covenant that is made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the Lord: "

About two months after the Exodus the Covenant was delivered at Sinai. However, the New Covenant was to be different from the Old Covenant. The next verse explains these differences.

Jeremiah 31:33. "But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people."

The phrase "write it in their hearts," is the major difference and distinction between the Old and New Covenants. The previous Old Covenant was written in stone. But the New Covenant is entered into your heart and mind and guided by Faith. For example under the Jewish or Old Covenant a baby boy could enter into the ranks of Judaism by way of circumcision when he was only 8 days old. However under the New Covenant one has to be old enough to accept and know Jesus Christ in their hearts. Thus, the New Covenant is a New Birth.

Also we note that the Old Covenant was broken by the people and was only temporary. Hence Christ is predicted to come to replace and fulfill the Old with the New. (See Hebrews 8:6). This New Covenant is revolutionary and one that all can grasp and hold onto with Faith. Also the Word of God is clear that this New Covenant is for all people Jews, Hebrews and Gentiles.
