Want all the comment bank files emailed to you? Please click here and send me a small donation for a new school project. I plan to use the money to buy a class set of Kindles for my small Romanian school, so they can read more English language books. Every little donation will really help! In return, I will email you the zipped file, containing all the files for you to share with your school friends.

Dealing with Dyscalculia - Sum Hope I was recently sent the book - ‘Dealing with Dyscalculia - Sum Hope’ by Steve Chinn The book is designed for people wanting to undo years of school maths lessons and replace it with simpler, more straightforward ways to complete a maths problem. The book is particularly useful for newly qualified teachers, looking for different ways to explain different maths strategies, and learn a few different ways of completing the same question.
There are however quite a few problems in this book, which just annoyed me. For example 4.7 pounds was described as 4 pounds and 7 pence.. some of the disagrams were tricky to see as he used only 1 symbol but different coins... oddly later in the book, when he did similar questions, he did draw all the different types of coins, making it much easier to read.
I would recommend this book as a book which a parent would use as reference when explaining their child’s homework or to get a simple test for Dyscalculia.
