Easy tactics to improve family fitness and family health part 1   by Michael Stephens


Lots of people read about family fitness and family health everyday. They read magazines, books, articles just like this, e-mails, e books and newspapers. Each can be confusing, too in depth, too serious, too complicated or just too long. On the other hand it may be just what you are looking for, cover just the right topic in just the right way for you. What I'm getting at here is that the information is already out there. There are many experts and gurus, Trainers and writers; we all have something to say. What people really need is just the right push to get them going, that little spark that hits you, that one word that connects with you. Try these tactics, they may just be that little kick that you are after. Please note that the key word here is not tactics but TRY. Information is only good if you use it

1 Stick to a healthy diet. If you are not sure what a healthy diet is do your homework. You don't have to be perfect but you need to stick at it. What is healthy? At this point you don't need to get technical just go for lots of vegetables providing lots of colour. Forget about technical information just use your eyes

2 Eat a good source of protein with every meal including breakfast. Good choices are lean red meat, chicken, turkey, fish, eggs and cottage cheese. Protein maintains muscle mass, which is key to good health and fitness

3 Eat good fats with each meal. Most people don't understand about good fats. A good diet will give you plenty of fats but you need to get the good types and not just the saturated type found in the protein. A simple solution is to get some EPA and DHA fish oil capsules and take one with every meal.

4 Plan your exercise. Those who plan have a far greater success rate at getting their exercise. Start of with a target of about 2 hours per week spread over 5 days. Any exercise will do until you find your niche. As long as you get slightly out of breath you should be working hard enough. Leave the strenuous stuff for a later date, for now just get going.

5 Make a big fuss about exercise. Let your family and friends know your intentions. Let them see that you mean business; they will support you if they know you are serious. Get them involved as well if you can, if they don't want to then just get on with it your self. Your family fitness and family health is a personal thing, it is yours, be selfish if you must. When others see you achieving results they will take note. When they see you winning your fitness back they will be impressed. Everybody likes a winner.
